The International Working Group on the Diabetic Foot

The International Working Group on the Diabetic Foot (IWGDF) aims to provide guidelines for management and prevention practices that reduce the impact of diabetic foot disease. Since 1999 the IWGDF has published the quadrennial International Consensus on the Diabetic Foot and Practical Guidelines on the Management and the Prevention of the Diabetic Foot, which is considered the gold standard in diabetic foot management and has been translated into 26 languages.

The European Wound Management Association

The European Wound Management Association (EWMA) is a European umbrella organisation, linking wound management organisations, individuals and groups with interest in wound care. Central to the EWMA’s objectives is supporting the implementation of multidisciplinary and cost--effective wound care of the highest quality. To reach its objectives, the EWMA works to provide an educational resource, organise symposiums, contribute to international projects related to wound management, actively support the implementation of existing knowledge wound management, and provide information on all aspects of wound management.

The European Association for the Study of Diabetes

The European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD) works to promote excellence in diabetes care through research and education. The aims of the Association are to encourage and support research in the field of diabetes, the rapid diffusion of acquired knowledge and to facilitate its application. The Association is based on individual membership and embraces scientists, physicians, laboratory workers, nurses and students from all over the world who are interested in diabetes and related subjects.
